Data analysis is a sub-field of statistics concerned with the description of joint data. The aim of these methods is to identify the links that may exist between the various data and to derive statistical information that can be used to describe the main information contained in the data in a more succinct way. We can also try to classify data into more homogeneous sub-groups: an example of the use of such classification would be the automatic recognition of spam.
